Distilled from carefully selected wild North Indian vetiver roots (Vetiveria zizanioides) using the traditional hydro-distillation process in Kannauj, this exceptional oil comes from a family of artisans whose association with essential oils and attars spans more than a century. The oil was distilled in 2020 and has since matured naturally, developing a richer body, greater smoothness, and an extraordinary concentration that only years of aging can impart. Thick, viscous, and intensely aromatic, even a tiny application perfumes the skin for many hours.
The fragrance opens with an arresting freshness—green, mint-like, and subtly camphoraceous, evoking crushed roots and rain-drenched grass. As it unfolds, the heart becomes deeper and more textured, revealing damp earth, fresh-cut roots, and the distinctive rounded richness that characterizes aged Indian vetiver. Gradually, the fragrance settles into a profound woody-earthy base where dark soil, ancient roots, and soft smoky nuances remain beautifully intertwined, while a whisper of cool green freshness lingers in the background.
